A Sunflower's Cry To The Sun

You are my heart's desire
Burning like a blazing fire
Your beams keep me warm
Your heat brings no harm

From dawn to dusk I follow your track
My faith fears no attack
I delight in your rays' gentle touch
That comforts me so much

I'm not worthy to look at you
All creation you refresh a new
My petals are a pretty sight
Useful oils are produced by your light

In the evening I know you must depart
For some time we must be apart
When your glory fades
I get my darker shades

At night, my Sun, I couldn't find
You went, stealing my heart behind
My head with dew was drenched
But my soul's sadness wasn't quenched

Come soon and comfort me
I humbly request on my knee
You alone can make me content
For I know, you are heaven sent

My Sun, I am your follower
Do remember this little sunflower
Without you I'm hopeless forever
Without you, my master I'll surely wither
